Melani Bros. Stresses Excellence
|

"We are committed to making sure the customer is
happy."
|
When Ray and Ron Melani opened the company 30 years
ago, the company consisted of two men and a truck. For the first 10 years they
operated out of the back of their pickup truck selling to customers from
Richmond to Virginia Beach and throughout the Hampton Roads area.
Today, Melani Bros. is listed by Replacement
Contractor Magazine as the 37th largest home improvement company in the
United States. Last year the company did $16.86 million in business. This year
they expect that number to rise to $20 million, making them one of the
faster-growing companies in the industry.
Melani Bros. recently purchased a 10,000 square
foot building in Ashland, Virginia as part of a rapid expansion project. The
company employs about 140 people and plans to hire more next year.
"Currently we have
employment opportunities because of our growth," explains Rick
Menendez, Vice President of Marketing. "We are in a state of expansion. We are
looking for sales people as well as people to work in
marketing and our
installation departments."
The company offers training in all of its
divisions. "Our installers have to be trained by us before that can install
products," Menendez says. "Our process of installation is very important to us.
We want people to be happy with what we install. We want to build our business
on referrals. We are committed to making sure the customer is happy."
All of the
decisions made at Melani Bros. are made in the best interest of the customer. "We sell the best products available and have the
most talented craftsmen in the area," Menendez says. "Everyone here is proud of
the job that we do."
Melani Bros. offers its employees a fun environment and
competitive pay. "We are willing to pay above industry standards for
good people," Menendez says. "We have a low turnover rate. We want to keep
people who are doing a good job. We hire people into a career, not just a job."
